The near future of the Japanese capital is being written on the man-made islands in the bay, with a focus on entertainment, modernity and innovation. Odaiba is more about leisure activities, while Toyosu and the long esplanade of Gururi Park have been home to the world's largest fish market since 2018. Some of the venues for the 2021 Olympic Games are located on these islands.
