Kings Cross is the area in Sydney for going out and for fast food, as well as a basecamp for backpackers. It's also home to an underbelly of sex shops, prostitution and homelessness. Bars and clubs attract some dubious types. Admission to establishments after 1.30am and the sale of alcohol after 3am is now forbidden, but that doesn't stop crowds of locals and young people from all over the world wandering "The Cross" at night in search of a dancefloor.
