Founded in the 18C, the Franciscan convent was a bastion of opposition to Genoa during the War of Independence. All that remain are romantic ruins overgrown with ivy (don't get too close) and frequented by cows. It would be hard to imagine a more mysterious and poetic place. Open to the elements, the baroque chapels of the church display remnants of polychromy. Yawning holes reveal the depths of the convent's cellars and underground passages.
