Pakse is home to the largest market in Southern Laos. The atmosphere here is lively from early in the morning when trucks deliver their fresh produce from the surrounding countryside. Vegetables, fish and basketwork products are all sold outside the main building, which is full of stalls selling embroidered sin (Laos' version of the sarong), jewellery and an increasing number of items imported from Vietnam and Thailand.
