Parallel to the Queensboro Bridge, this cable car offers an unexpected view of the city. The crossing takes only a few minutes, but the ride over the East River allows you to admire Manhattan. The ride is recommended at nightfall, when the magic of the city lights makes you forget some of the less attractive buildings. The tramway experienced a few hours of fame in the spring of 2006, when a breakdown brought it to a standstill for several hours over the river, with its passengers stuck inside.
