The vibrant MUAC houses the country's only public collection of contemporary art. The museum's mission is to chronicle the history of art since the 1950s and to familiarise Mexicans with this art; they have succeeded as the large numbers of visitors proves. The concrete, glass and steel edifice designed by Teodoro González de León, allows the light to flood in and espouses the contours of the terrain faultlessly.
