La opinión de la Guía Michelin
An iconic symbol of Khiva, this minaret was intended to become the tallest ever built, a challenge for even the most exceptional architect. In order to prevent the master builder from reproducing his work for any other princes, the Khan of Khiva had decided to eliminate him as soon as his work was completed. Upon learning of this, he ran away, meaning the "short minaret" was never finished. Entirely covered with green and blue glazed bricks, it lends a touch of vibrant colour to the city principally built of rammed earth.
