The National Museum of Kandy is housed in a late-18C building that was once the Queen's Palace. It displays the pomp and circumstance of the Kandyan court through a collection of artefacts, reflecting a know-how that has been all but abandoned by today's craftsmen: textiles and ornaments, extremely refined crockery, weapons and manuscripts, sculpted ivories etc.
