The island, just to the south of Kampot, is a great destination for a bicycle ride. The Buddhist community mostly gathers to the north, around the island's peaceful Wat Trey Koh pagoda. The little hamlets of houses on stilts along the shore are home to the Chams, who tend to be fishermen and congregate around Trapeang Pring Mosque in the west. The centre of the island of Trey Koh has retained its pastoral character, depicted by rice paddies and salt marshes.
