This 4 654ha park is named after Quaker merchant, Jonathan Dickinson. The account of his shipwreck on the coast in 1696 is one of the earliest written accounts of the "Indians" of the Southeast. Follow the pleasant Hobe Mountain Trail or board the Loxahatchee Queen III to see alligators, manatees and white-throated jays, but also the largest expanse of sand pine scrut (desert-type vegetation) in southeast Florida.
