Foodies come from far and wide to this sleepy little wine village to savour Steffen Ruggaber's creative cuisine. His dishes are intelligently devised and prepared with great technical precision; he skilfully combines the wonderful flavours of select ingredients – his intensely flavoursome sauces also deserve a mention! Diners have a choice of two set menus (one vegetarian); on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, they are slightly smaller than at the weekend. Lunch options (Sat) are a little simpler. For over 20 years, Steffen and Sonja Ruggaber have been running this business with a dedication that is also palpable in the service provided by the cordial and highly competent maître d'. The wine recommendations are spot on – they have a very well-curated exclusively German wine list. Good overnight accommodation is also available.
