From chef Julien Royer of Odette fame comes a classic French brasserie, which he named after his mother. It’s housed in a lovely 1930s converted chapel, with an open kitchen at one end and a bar at the other. Those with a fondness for comforting French classics will find the rollcall of favourites very appealing, from onion soup to vol-au-vents and baba au rhum. If you’re willing to share, then go for the bouillabaisse or the pepper steak flambéed at your table.
