Il Comandante was the nickname of Achille Lauro, the founder of the Flotta Lauro shipping company, which once stood on the site of the Romeo Napoli hotel. Situated on the top floor of the hotel, this restaurant boasts views of the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius, including – in fine weather and on long summer days – colourful sunsets which are truly unforgettable. The modern dining room decorated in black tones has an elegant and discreet ambience which is equally memorable. At the helm in the kitchen, chef Salvatore Bianco works with a young team to produce dishes that are surprising for their sophisticated simplicity and elegant presentation. Originally from Torre del Greco, the chef uses fish and seafood from the Mediterranean to create internationally influenced dishes with acidic flavours that make them unique and original.
