This restaurant dating back to 1889 has a long history to its name. Today, Bavarian-style cuisine is the name of the game, presented in both traditional and modern guises. Fine examples include Bavarian Forest venison roulade stuffed with smoked meat, cranberries and pickled vegetables, mashed parsnip and potato, and a red cabbage roll, or pan-fried Breitenberg char with wild broccoli, spicy curry carrot puree, aniseed crust and lime foam. Alternatively, "Signature Dishes" such as Wiener schnitzel, cordon bleu and roast onion are available. We also recommend the two three- to four-course menus. The restaurant is housed in the hotel of the same name, which has a small spa area. This a great place to spend the night – then you can take full advantage of the excellent wine list. It features a good 180 items and is mostly devoted to German wines, especially Riesling.
