While sister Shoyu specialises in ramen, here at the rather smart Shichirin it’s all about grilling your own meat over an electric grill in the centre of the table. As such, it’s a great place to come if you’re in a group: choose one of the 500g ‘sets’ which range in quality and price from ‘Entry’ right through to ‘Wagyu’, then choose either yakiniku, sukiyaki or shabu-shabu style for a range of different accompaniments and sauces. For those who don’t like DIY, there are plenty of other choices available too, including karaage don (chicken, egg yolk and rice) or grilled sea bass with lemon dashi.
