The quintessence of vintage Paris! In a side street of medieval Marais, this 1936 bistro would have been quite at home on the set of Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris: authentic bistro furniture, bare or beige walls, vintage floor tiles, a gilded ceiling and a copper and wooden counter. The food is similarly nostalgic: red mullet in a bisque sauce, calf’s sweetbread in beurre noisette and a dark chocolate and caramelised pecan tart to finish. Ten out of ten for this restaurant that is fully deserving of its success. (Book if you can!)
