After many years away from the London restaurant scene, the Poon dynasty has returned thanks to Amy Poon, daughter of the group’s original founders Bill and Cecilia. The latest incarnation of Poon’s sits to the side of Somerset House in an elegant, warmly hued room with buzz from its open kitchen. Start with one of the signature wind-dried meats or perhaps the wontons with chilli vinegar dressing, then follow up with the likes of claypot rice or roast duck salad. The pre-theatre menu offers great value for money and the ‘Siu Yeh’ selection after 9pm is perfect for late diners.
