This pretty little village in the upper Lot-et-Garonne, bordering the Dordogne, boasts a rich heritage. It is also home to this restaurant, in a large old building, with a young chef at the helm. Having worked in some fine establishments, he has a sure touch when it comes to preparing something like beef picanha, sourcing the tender, flavoursome meat from the village butcher and serving it with kale and chard from a market gardener in Monclar-de-Quercy. The chef seems to have a particular penchant for roasted notes such as coffee, in both the main course and the dessert. The bucolic space with an open kitchen, stone walls and exposed ceiling beams is delightful.
