Mist Trail is a popular hiking trail in the Yosemite Valley and is named after the heavy mist created by the frothing waterfalls. It connects Happy Isles to Vernal Fall, where the Merced River plunges more than 97m, then continues to Nevada Fall, which is even more spectacular at 182m tall. From here you can descend back to Happy Isles via the John Muir Trail or continue to the top of the Half Dome (2 693m), which overlooks the valley and surrounding peaks.
