The medieval town's maze of cobbled streets is demarcated by the district's three main thoroughfares, Strandgatan, Mellangatan and Sankt Hansgatan, all running parallel to the coastline, and fronted by old shops and warehouses. Some of these old shops can still be seen along Strandgatan, such as the old 13C pharmacy at n° 26.
