The Gargano headland features a highly indented coast, which can be explored by following the coast road (P53) from Mattinata to Vieste. The first picturesque site that you come to on this beautiful route is the Baia delle Zagare. Continuing to the Testa del Gargano, a fine square tower which once watched out for Saracen invasions, you'll have a splendid view of the creek of San Felice. The dozen or so caves dotted along this coastline are only accessible by boat - don't miss the Campana Grande.
