The heavy Italianiate influence of the city can be felt most strongly in the very theatrical main square and its lavish palaces. Particularly notable are the 18C Draškovic palace and its Rococo façade and the town hall from the same era, which sports a belfry and a very ornate balcony. In another style, the Bakic and Mrazovic houses are beautifully preserved examples of 18 and 19C bourgeois homes. A premium spot to observe this rich heritage is the terrace of the Art deco Caffe Korzo.
