Close to the basilica on San Giusto Hill, this museum exhibits a beautiful collection of Greek vases and a set of delightful small Roman bronzes. A romantic lapidary garden showcases tombstones and is home to a monument in honour of archaeologist J. J. Winckelmann (1833), murdered in Trieste in 1768 by an ex-convict.
