Dominating the Travers valley and the Areuse gorges, the Creux du Van is a natural rocky cirque over 160m high that stretches for over 1km. It lies in the heart of an 11km2 nature reserve.. The "path of 14 bends" leads to the Dos d'âne on the ridge of the cliff. You will then reach the Soliat farmstead, a mountain chalet restaurant, and further on, the heights of the Creux du Van, to its highest peak, the Soliat at 1,463 m. The journey down is by another very steep path.
