Ste-Marie-au-Pays-des-Hurons is a faithful reconstruction of a Jesuit mission, protected by a stockade. It illustrates what life was like in New France at the very beginnings of the settlement in the 17C and places it in historical perspective. The mission was divided into several sections for the Jesuits, the lay workers and the Huron. Throughout the site (chapel, smithy, saw pit, carpentry workshop and houses), costumed guides bring the place to life.
