This trip gives an insight into the life of bargees, by passing hydraulic lifts and seeing the turning of lift bridges worked by bridgemen or lock-keepers. The trips on lifts nos 2 and 3 show how they work. The return journey by small tourist train along the towpath enables to see the lifts from the outside.
