The remains of this Roman city lie in an enchanting, verdant landscape. Built in the 1C AD, it was destroyed by the Barbarians in 260 and rebuilt 30 years later under the name of Herculiana. The town's layout, revealed by excavation work, shows the main buildings of the old town. It is possible to make out the paved shopping street, the remains of a palace and two basilicas, plus an ancient cemetery set slightly away from the other ruins.
