This small chapel is above the Gate of Iron. From the 9C, countless little religious edifices of this type were built all over Split and the surrounding area. Small chapels were built over every palace door. This one dates from the 11C and has the oldest pre-Romanesque steeple of the Dalmatian coast. The interior is touchingly simple.
