The wealth of this archaeological site is such that it offers an overview of the history of Corsica from the Neolithic to the Roman period. 70 menhir statues were discovered here in 1946, including the Filitosa V, the largest and best armed of all. The menhir is carved with a long sword and an oblique dagger in its sheath, while the back reveals clear anatomical and clothing details. A Cyclopean wall marks the entrance to the fortified oppidum, which stands on a rocky escarpment.
