St Nicholas' church overlooks the meticulously painted houses with red roofs and covered with Flemish tiles on Lilla Torg in the heart of Simrishamn's old town. Brightly coloured 19C houses with sculpted wooden doors line Stora Norregatan and Östergatan. In a road that leads into Dammgatan, you can visit Strömmens sträddle, formerly a tanner's workshop. The port here becomes very lively in summer.
