Great Wall at Simatai

Guía Michelin
Vale la pena el viaje
Monumento civil y militar
La opinión de la Guía Michelin
Simatai is the most spectacular and striking section of the Great Wall as it is here that it traverses mountain ridges, the sides of which plunge dramatically into the void below. In these extreme landscapes, the technical prowess of engineers from the Ming dynasty is fully apparent in the obstacle walls and watchtowers. Although requiring significant effort, it is well worth the effort to "climb" the wall here, although a cable car is also available to visitors.
