Inspired by Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, this imposing brick edifice was erected between 1902 and 1906 by Hungarian architects Virgil Nagy and Iosif Kamner. The orthodox metropolitan cathedral is worth visiting to see the murals by Sibiu-born artist Octavian Smigelschi (1866-1912).
