Since 2003, the Seoul Museum of Photography has been located off-centre in Songpa-gu. In 2023, to mark its twentieth anniversary, the privately-owned museum got a makeover. It has moved to the heights of this highly sought-after district, in a new space designed by the architect Min Hyun Sik. Designed to reflect the growing popularity of this art form in Korea, the museum, spread over three buildings, is built around elegant, immaculately white volumes, accentuated by the sobriety of the materials and soothed by the soothing light.
