This pleasant riverside esplanade, with a hotel and a few café terraces, provides a romantic backdrop to the house of Ferdo Livadic (1799-1879), the first modern Croatian composer and one of the founders of the Illyrian movement, the spearhead of the Croatian National Revival in the 19C. His house is now a museum.
