Pubs and old-fashioned tea rooms line this cobbled street, built on the site of the moat around Philippe Auguste's fortifications (you can see the remains of one of the towers in the first passage on the right). It was in this courtyard that Marat printed his paper, L'Ami du Peuple, during the Revolution.
