La opinión de la Guía Michelin
The city's oldest temple (mid-6C BC) was dedicated to Hera, sister and wife of Zeus. The pronounced curve in the centre of the columns (entasis) and the distinct splaying of the eschini of the capitals are testament to its archaic character. The imposing horse, built by Mimmo Paladino in 1999 using sand from the beaches of Paestum, stands 4m high and blends in seamlessly with the ancient remains.
