Partly flanked on the river side by the Baroque-style church of St Ladislas (1773), the square is bordered by two large eclectic buildings. One is the town hall, the second (a neo-Gothic fantasy-piece) houses the regional library. Beynd this stands the church of St Nicholas in its garden giving on to General Tr. Mosoiu Street. Formerly a Greco-Catholic church, it is also in the Baroque style.
