The windswept highlands of the Horton Plains are among the most stunning landscapes in Sri Lanka. They are a classic destination for hikers starting from Haputale or Nuwara Eliya. The trail is a 9km loop. It crosses the plain, then follows the dry course of a purple-stoned stream to World's End, the steep edge of the plains that plunges steeply down to Nagrak Tea Estate 800m below.
