In Menal, you can visit a complex of 12C temples dominated by the magnificent sanctuary dedicated to Shiva. As you wander through the scattered ruins, you will come to the nearby source of the River Menal in a grandiose wooded gorge. The 120m-high waterfall, which is particularly spectacular following the monsoon (October-November), can nowadays be in full flow at any time of year as a result of the opening of dams upstream.
