This, the main hub of the old town, is also known as Plaza de las Esculturas. A magnificent open-air sculpture museum, the square presents a dozen monumental pieces, donated by Fernando Botero to his hometown. Each work pertains to the "Botero legend", according to which the mere fact of touching the statues guarantees love and luck. This pleasant cobbled area planted with frangipani trees is filled with street vendors at every hour of the day.
