A building that seems to float on the water of the lagoon. Completed in 2012, the National Theatre was designed by the French studio Architecture-Studio. The all-glass hall is covered by an aluminium canopy that imitates traditional woven palm canopies. The interior is well worth a visit: the auditorium is covered with an elm ceiling, the undulations of which are reminiscent of marine carpentry. Upstairs, the foyer is a real tour de force, with the curved lines of white concrete.
