In this square, which occupies the site of the pre-existing Roman forum, stand old houses, some of them dating back to the 13th and 14C, the Pretorio Palace, an old palace of the Podestà which has a loggia ground level with Renaissance arcades and the Saint-Michael's church, which dominates the square with its white mass, intersected with blind arcading and small columns.
