Lined with several fado bars, these are Alfama's most appealing streets. At the beginning of Rua dos Remédios, note the Manueline doorway of the church of the Espírito Santo on the left-hand side, and a little further along, at no 2 Calçadinha de Santo Estêvão, another doorway from the same period.
