The perspective up the long approach path to the castle, through a succession of Baroque portals and vaulted openings in the different buildings, is striking. The monumental 17C complex, built on two islands, stands on the site of the 14C fortress. Inside, a few rooms, including the panelled Great Hall, may be visited.
