San Matteo (1667-1700) is the work of Milanese architect Achille Carducci. The façade, with its convex lower section and concave upper portion, presents a style close to the Roman Baroque. Inside, the nine altars that surround the single nave are magnificent examples of the barocco leccese: Lecce Baroque.
