It may be prohibited to go around Lac Lauvitel, but the hike there (3hr) is highly recommended. From La Danchère, you walk on a path dotted with explanatory panels on the geology, fauna and flora. Then a paved path follows the route of the colossal natural dike that holds back the lake. Torrents and waterfalls flow through it. Finally, the Lauvitel appears in an untamed site, the Réserve Intégral of the Parc des Écrins, which is closed to the public. Swimming, meanwhile, is possible!
