To the north of Roskilde, the fjords region is home to two of the largest Danish fjords, Isefjord and Roskilde Fjord, which meet the Kattegat. Roskilde Fjord, the narrower of the two, is particularly stunning: rolling hills slope gently towards the tranquil waters of the fjord, which is lined with reeds and dotted with islets visible in the distance. With its woods and prairies, the rivers flowing into the fjord and the villages, Hornsherred peninsula is an enchanting place.
