Aïtone forest, a cathedral of greenery depicted by elegant laricio pine trees and dotted with small natural pools, represents a refreshingly cool oasis, not far from the village of Évisa. In addition to laricio pines, some of which are up to 52m tall, the forest is home to beeches, silver firs and maritime pines. The most beautiful and the oldest, some several centuries old, can be seen around the Aïtone forest lodge. The forest is riddled with hiking paths.
