The town's historic centre stretches out from Main Avenue. Start at the train depot, the station from which the steam engine departs. Get hold of a Walking Tour leaflet and follow the itinerary along Main Street to admire the period brick houses with pediments. The star attraction is the Strater Hotel, the region's first bank, and its Diamond Belle, a restored Old West saloon, where various events are organised.
