With its corner turrets and ornate skylights, this huge brick edifice is a fine example of Victorian architecture. Inaugurated in 1881, South City Markets are today home to a delightful shopping centre covered in glass and wrought-iron, whose stalls sell cheap clothes, second-hand records and tasty snacks.
